So what is Apple waiting for with the iPhone 5?
If there are no chips until 2012, then just give us the iphone 5 now :)
The obvious answer is that iOS 5 is going to be major and is why it is taking awhile (probably iTunes cloud related).

Every time a change in the phone comes out, the manufacturer has to make new cases to reach those new customers, necessitating new tools/molds/whatever (so more cost on their end). Any manufacturer would prefer that the same case worked for all iPhone4s because then they would only have to spend the manufacturing dollars once to reach a every iPhone4 customer. Plus, less confusion when people are buying cases.
So what you are telling me is: An iPhone 4 comes out and I buy a case. Incase makes $20. An iPhone 5 comes out the same size and I don't buy a case because I have an old one and Incase makes $0. How is that better for Incase exactly?

These original molds are already made so they can continue to make the old case at next to nothing. Once the new mold is made (the expensive part) it 's the same song.

Actually, the US Dollar is declining due to the Fed interest rate cuts.

Actually, the president submits budgets to Congress. Finally, when the market swings wildly as it has recently, look to the behavior of large institutional investors. They are the controllers of large blocks of shares. What they decide moves markets, not small-time investors. They're just along for the ride, for the most part.

Some people are lying themselves. Of course every high-end laptop will be like the MBA in few-several years. That is the point, getting slimmer, portable and more and more powerful. That's the ideal laptop.
So a MBA with better GPU/CPU is always welcomed.
The point, though, is that the Sandy Bridge MacBook Air will have a much better CPU, but a worse GPU unless Apple does something surprising.

Looking forward to it if it is more stable than Tiger. I run Panther on my iBook and Tiger on my G5 iMac and the iBook knocks the socks of the iMac for reliability.
Hopefully they will sort out the horrendous sound quality of imported tracks that I get in iTunes when I import them on my G5 iMac.
Overall I think Panther was the best version of OSX so far, (because of how stable it was) so I am hoping this one is as good as that!

Nice to see they retained the firewire ports for dinosaurs like me who still have audio interfaces and camcorders that rely on it. :) Lurvely!

I bought an iMac April 16. If apple releases a new model May 3rd, will they pity recent buyers and allow exchange/return for the new iMac????

How is the statue of the noble team that comes with the legendary edition? Is it cheap looking or actually worth it?
It is really nice, and very worth it. It is plastic, but is very sturdy and looks great. They are all hand-painted, and very detailed. The real gem of the set, though, is Dr. Halsey's journal that comes with the Limited and Legendary versions. That thing is CRAZY awesome, and is filled with so much stuff, it boggles the mind. If you are into the lore and back story of the Halo universe, Bungie made this for you, and they didn't hold back.

Yes it costs a fortune to shoot and my wrist can only handle about 6 rounds and I am done for the day. However it only takes 1 from this thing to stop anything shy of a pissed off bull elephant:D
Where do you live? I always thought it was illegal to own a small firearm like that I know that's what I've been told anyway. Unless you absolutely were require to have one, like a cop/fbi.

I agree. I like MS strategy. They want to get their foot in the door and compete, then sell you all kinds of other ish. Look at the XBOX/XBOX 360, they may sell them at a loss, but with the Software, XBOX Live, and the Marketplace, they are making their money.
31,100,000,000 is alot of stamina too, I remember when m$oft got in the gaming console business there was a lot of this talk, now look at them, they sell the thing for a loss. Now imagine if they did that for the zune, a 60gb video capable for $150.00. Something to think about.........

if MS makes it cheaper than an iPod then Apple might have some trouble. Parents/grandparents who are technologically ignorant will generally buy whatever Bestbuy salesman pimps to them for their kid. So if it is cheaper than an iPod with similar functions then a lot will be bought.
I think people are very wrong here.
iPod is the cool thing. It is the brand name. It is what everyone asks for, even if they're using a generic term.
If you have an identical iPod and identical Microsoft brand side by side, people will go for the iPod, because it is the standard they are comfortable with. Even my grandparents konw what an iPod is. It is the Windows / MS Office of the music player world.
I know its a hard thing to wrap our minds around, but in this particular space, Apple is the established gorilla and everyone has to fight for the extra mindshare. People gravitate to the iPod, and will look at an MS offering with suspicion. "What does Microsoft have to do with Music? Aren't they a computer company?"

It's been a strong position of mine for over 1.5 years that Apple's market share was to rise significantly. Data in now demonstrates that the position I've have held is valid.
I expect to see a large spike in Apple's market share over the next few years and by the time we see the successor to Leopard, Apple will have 8% market share. I made that prediction earlier this year.

I would go so far as to suggest the reason we don't have an App Store on the current Apple TV is because Apple is saving it as the compelling reason to buy an entire TV set.
Apple doesn't have to provide the reasons to buy the Apple TV set. Developers will do that for them. In the hundreds of thousands.
Pretty soon you won't be switching channels. You'll be switching apps.
My 2 cents.
Apple already has the ability to provide this by using :apple:TV2. Even when priced at $99 Apple is making money on each unit sold. And a software update can easily add support for iOS apps. I simply do not see Apple releasing their own Television when they can simply offer a new service on existing devices.
